During FlowILM, the cafe patio will become a Communal Improvisation and Deep Listening Space led by composer/performer Chelsea Loew where all are invited to improvise together with text scores and sonic meditations that allow you to engage and connect wholeheartedly with the environment and those around you. Deep Listening, a practice developed in the 1980s by composer Pauline Oliveros, intensifies consciousness and connection through sound and awareness. This attention to sound and environment is at the heart of FlowILM, and many of these text scores will focus on themes of water, ecosystems, connection, and non-verbal communication. A schedule will be provided at the event with start times for each improvisation and sonic meditation.
